Promise Communities is a place-based initiative, meaning it has specific boundaries and effects everyone who lives/works/plays in the Green Street School neighborhood.

Promise Community uses three primary frameworks: Collective Impact, Strengthening Families, and Result Based Accountability.

With a long term goal to increase kindergarten readiness we recognize that children are nested in families and communities and will use the Protective Factors/Strengthening Families framework to improve lives and impact the factors that correlate with K-readiness.

Context of Promise Communities:

Vermont’s Early Learning Challenge – Race to the Top grant (ELC) is a $36.9 million, federally funded, four-year grant to help build a high-quality and accessible early childhood system in the state so that all young children will be ready to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Early Learning Challenge Grant is a partnership between AoE, AHS, and Governor’s Office. Read more here.
